I just got back after 15 days off, but not rested enough… 
Anyway, playing regularly pays off, even when you’re not putting pressure on yourself. Your feedback really convinces me of that.

I really like the story you’re telling with a very atmospheric intro, a solid rhythm driving the body of the piece, and a well-controlled fade-out at the end—you seem much more at ease with it, the harmonic progression is solid

The didge sound is very pleasant, with nice lows but not overwhelming at all, I’d say a velvety tone

Thanks! Your reactions warm both our hearts. So far we haven’t really played together. Gurtha in D isn’t ideal to go with Marion’s Equinox handpan, with the ding in F.
We tried with the air didge by adjusting with the slide while waiting to receive Dhalawan, but we weren’t convinced either. Now we can get serious about it. We’ve got work to do to get our rhythmic patterns in sync, but we’ll get there.
When I heard Zalem play on that air column with Bryneira, I melted. That was late March, before ordering Gurtha which I’d spotted in photos for a while.
@Elisabeth_Blanc it’s not surprising to find didge and handpan paired so often. And what’s funny is that it wasn’t an association we made on purpose. I found my instrument of the heart, the didge, and Marion found hers, the handpan.
@Karl exactly. You’ll notice that during the intro, I put more power to drastically lower the airflow when Marion joins me. Pressure-wise, I was surprised when I tried it the first time—wanting to make a drone, I hit the first overtone right away. I adjusted the pressure down and boom, a beautiful drone with lovely harmonics. It requires more air than Gurtha, the air column is wider I think. It’s also 23cm longer.
I can easily get the first overtone out, the second comes pretty easily, the third requires a bit more precision with the pressure.
@Christophe_E you sum up nicely what I feel about the bass. It’s a bit enhanced maybe by the resonance of our apartment (Gurtha resonates too, the air didge too, only the snail doesn’t resonate).
But really present, enveloping bass, that’s something we love. And it’s surprising to see that with such bass, a fast rhythm lets Marion slip into relaxation. Less meditative, but it’s important enough to point out.
On the tripod stand, Gurtha’s bass gets more subtle in favour of punchy, incisive harmonics. Dhalawan stays smooth with brilliant harmonics.
Both are amazing. They’re beautiful, each in their own way. They sound magnificent, each in their own way. I’ve really got plenty to work with.
And yeah, like you said @Karl, we’re gonna have fun.
Can’t wait to have our house. It’s going well in the apartment with the neighbours, but we’ll be freer, especially me when we don’t have shared walls
